Monjali (Monumen Jogja Kembali)


This museum was built in June 29, 1985 and finished in July 6, 1989. It was signed with a traditional ceremony, Penanaman Kepala Kerbau dan Peletakan Batu Pertama, by Sri Sultan hamengkubuwono IX and Sri Paduka Paku Alam VIII. The idea of building this monument was said by Colonel Soeharto as major of Yogyakarta City in Yogya Kembali Ceremony which was held in June 29, 1983, by Pemerintah Daerah Tingkat II Yogyakarta. Colonel Soeharto was the inaugurator of this monument. The name of Yogya Kembali was chosen because of the aim of this built monument itself. That was as a pillar of history moments when Dutch soldiers and colonial government were grabbed out compulsorily from Capital City of Yogyakarta in June 29, 1949. It was a sign as new independence of Indonesia from the capable of Dutch government in reality. The other aims of building it are as appreciation to the struggle as conserve for commemorating the Indonesian independence, and as education terms.

In the 3rd floor of Garbha Graha room, the silent room and special room for pray to the heroes

The cleanliness; unwell treated 
The garbage bin is only in one area 
The air conditioner is not cool enough 
The broken part of museum is not fixed 
There are no CCTV in the museum
